I will evaluate your instrument for free. Just bring in your instrument, I’ll tell you what it needs and what it’ll cost and you can decide if you want me to proceed. Most basic work can be done within a week, some repairs take longer, but that is something you’ll also know as part of the evaluation.
Setups –
The wood in your guitar undergoes subtle changes with the stresses of the strings and humidity changes. Over time, these little alterations add up. If your guitar has developed a buzz, is less fun to play or seems to not sound as good as it once did, a setup is in order.
The basic setup includes an overall inspection, cleaning and polishing, truss rod adjustment, fret dress, adjustment of the nut and saddle (lowering or shimming), intonation at the saddle, tightening of tuners, electronics check and installation of new strings. Though the price of the strings is not included, you may provide your own strings or purchase some form us.
If required, I will also make you a new bone saddle or nut for an additional charge. This may be required for a proper setup or it may be something you want to do just to improve the sound of your instrument.
Repairs –
Dings, gouges and cracks can all be repaired. Internal braces can be re-glued. I can do fret replacements, neck resets, electronic pickups installation and debugging. Pretty much, if your instrument needs it, I can do it.
